Milan receive serious Scudetto boost from three goalkeeper errors

Milan have done well in their chase of the Scudetto this season, but three specific goalkeeping errors have significantly boosted their chances of success.

The Rossoneri currently sit top of the Serie A table after 35 games, two points ahead of second place Inter. With only three games remaining, things are set to come down to the wire in Italy as Europe’s best title race continues. The Rossoneri have made huge strides under Stefano Pioli and a Scudetto would be a worthy reward after such a long journey.

Three separate goalkeeping errors have influenced Milan’s Scudetto hopes, however, starting with Alex Meret’s mistake in Napoli’s clash with Empoli. He was robbed of the ball by Andrea Pinamonti, who scored the equalising goal before finding the winner moments later, essentially ending Napoli’s title run.

The next major mistake was made by Ionut Radu; the Inter goalkeeper made a disastrous slip up in the match against Bologna, allowing Nicola Sansone to score the winner, giving the Rossoneri a serious boost.

The last goalkeeping error in favour of Milan was Pietro Terracciano’s error in the Rossoneri’s 1-0 win on Sunday, allowing them to maintain their momentum in the final stage of the season.
