Ismael Bennacer underwent tests after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations and should be available for Milan starting from next week.
The midfielder was back at the training ground from yesterday following the early elimination of Algeria from the competition.
He had also sustained a muscular problem during the tournament and there were concerns it was a potentially serious issue.
More tests were conducted today and the word out of Milanello is that Bennacer has a slight fatigue of the adductors, so should be available for coach Stefano Pioli from next week.
That still means he is out of this weekend’s Serie A showdown with Bologna, but ought to be fit enough for the next match against Frosinone.
Bennacer was out of action for over six months in 2023 after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during the Champions League semi-final with Inter.
He only resumed playing with the Rossoneri in December and then straight away was called up for international duty at AFCON.
