Good news for Stefano Pioli and Milan at their training session today as Olivier Giroud returned to squad work, just in time for their clash with Roma.

The 36-year-old French forward has been a vital part of Pioli’s squad this season, being a key source of goals and on-pitch leadership. He has scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances this campaign.

Giroud did not take part in Milan’s last two league outings, but did play 68 minutes of their Champions League win over Napoli in between them, having to play through a calf injury.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Giroud carried out the entire squad training session with his teammates today, suggesting that he will be available to start for Milan in their upcoming match with Roma.

Both teams are tied on 56 points heading into the game, making it worth more than just three points as they fight for a Champions League qualification spot.
