Milan have identified their primary target to replace Fode Ballo-Toure and are reportedly ready to start negotiations for Riccardo Calafiori.

The Rossoneri have decided to cut the 26-year-old Senegalese left back from the squad and are now working on finding a new home for him. He was not called up for the pre-season tour to the United States.

Bologna and Nice are both interested in picking up Ballo-Toure and Fulham have now emerged to join the race. Milan will let him leave for around €4m, not wanting to make a capital loss.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan have planned to open talks with FC Basel to start negotiating a deal for Calafiori, identifying him as their top replacement for Ballo-Toure.

The Rossoneri are aware that the 21-year-old Italian left back has a 40% future resale clause in his Basel contract in favour of Roma, which will impact the costs of the deal.
