Milan are ready to intensify negotiations for RB Salzburg defender Strahinja Pavlovic, but have decided against investing in Tottenham Hotspur full-back Emerson Royal.

According to transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, the Rossoneri are preparing to go all in for Pavlovic as the necessary reinforcement for their central defence.

The Serbia international just turned 23 in May and is under contract until June 2027, as RB Salzburg purchased him from AS Monaco in 2022 for €7m.

His price-tag has surged over the last two years, but Milan are still confident they can get a deal done for just under €20m.

Milan focus on Pavlovic, drop Emerson Royal

Meanwhile, the fact he is a non-EU player has also influenced the transfer strategy with regards to Emerson Royal, who is no longer a priority.

After weeks of negotiations with Tottenham, who demanded €20m for the right-back, the Serie A side decided to step away.

This is also because Pierre Kalulu impressed in the role during pre-season training and can also play in central defence.
