West Ham are working to sign Lucas Paqueta from Olympique Lyon, a deal that’ll bring millions to Milan, reports suggest.

The Hammers have not started the Premier League season well, picking up three defeats in their opening three matches, and they’re looking to make some last minute signings in a bid to change their course.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, West Ham are offering €40m to Lyon for Paqueta, a player that Newcastle United are also interested in. The Brazilian forward spent 18 months of his career with Milan and they included a 15% future resale clause on the deal that took him to France.

Due to this clause, Milan are set to receive around €6m if West Ham do complete this transfer, a nice return as the Rossoneri look to make their own last minute additions.

With the summer transfer market drawing to a close next week, West Ham will need to move fast if they want to get a deal across the line, something Milan will be praying for as well.
