Milan are ready to get serious about contract negotiations with Theo Hernandez as they look to ward off interest from Bayern Munich.

The 26-year-old Frenchman has continued to prove himself to be one of the top left backs in European football this term, even if Stefano Pioli has consistently used him in a central role during the club’s defensive injury crisis.

In recent months, Bayern have emerged with serious interest in Theo Hernandez, keen to snap up the talented fullback in the coming summer transfer window. He has just over two years left on his current deal with Milan, putting the club in an awkward spot.

Page 16 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Milan have already opened contract talks with Theo Hernandez and will get serious in the coming weeks to try and find an agreement ahead of the summer transfer window.

Whilst the Rossoneri don’t want to lose the 26-year-old Frenchman, they would be willing to listen to offers over €100m, showing his importance to the club.
