Multiple reports on Saturday afternoon suggest that Milan are close to finalising a deal with AZ Alkmaar for the transfer of midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted in the morning that positive discussions were taking place between the two clubs on Saturday and that an agreement over a fee was close to being reached.

Later on Saturday, Calciomercato revealed, according to their sources, that Milan had in fact closed a deal with the Eredivisie club.

Calciomercato and Romano report that Milan will pay AZ a fee of €20m plus bonuses for the 24-year-old all-action midfielder.

It is believed that Reijnders will put pen to paper on a four-year deal, running until the summer of 2027, with an annual salary thought to be in the region of €1.7m.

Calciomercato also believe that Reijnders could fly out to Milan as early as Monday to undergo medical examinations before making his move to San Siro official.

  1. This year’s mercato already light years better than last year’s; add a good CF and I’ll be very happy.
