“The club was no immune to a season that was hugely affected by the global pandemic,” the club’s official statement reads.

“The negative financial performances of the club had already been penalized by the previous management and the final result is a loss of circa €195m.”

“Excluding the negative impact of an exceptional situation, the results have significantly improved and are in line with the club’s expectations.”

Milan insist they are “Committed to compliance the FFP.”

“A club like Milan takes time to transform but the club and the ownership are united in the trust and in the positive path that has been taken”.

“The huge impact of the health emergency is clear, and it reflects on the stadium revenues and the consequent reduction of the commercial activities for minor incomes in the retail area (museum, stores, Casa Milan).”

The club also highlights how part of the tv rights for the final part of the 2019/20 campaign will be accounted for the next season.

The exclusion from the Europa League has also contributed to having a bad impact on the club’s finances.

“The constant support of Elliott, which guarantees the financial stability of AC Milan, has nevertheless allowed important investments, the effects of which will begin to be visible in the near future.

“At the same time, an effective cost rationalisation policy was launched, also through a significant reduction in the amount of players’ wages and top management salaries.”
