Milan have reportedly raised their offer to extend Franck Kessié’s contract and set their sights on Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt.

Kessié’s deal expires in June 2022 and the Rossoneri want to tie him down to a new contract, so he doesn’t leave the San Siro as a free agent like Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu did.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan representatives will meet the player’s agent George Atangana next week, but the Rossoneri have already raised their contract offer to €5.5m plus add-ons to potentially reach €6m-a-year.

Kessié is on a €2.2m-a-year deal at Milan and his agent reportedly demanded a new €7m-a-year contract with Liverpool, believed to be interested in the former Atalanta midfielder.

Milan could offer Kessié a two-year contract extension, so the terms of the agreement can be discussed again in one year.

Meantime, the Rossoneri are still on the lookout for a new attacking midfielder who could potentially replace Hakan Calhanoglu.

The pink paper suggests Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt is on the Rossoneri’s radars. Milan want to sign the player on loan with an option to buy, but that would cost the Rossoneri circa €5m for the player’s one-year loan plus an option to purchase the player for €22m.
