The relationship between Milan and Mino Raiola has hit a new low, with reports claiming the Rossoneri are not involving the agent in talks for Alessio Romagnoli’s extension.

The Milan captain sees his contract expire at the end of the season, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player’s representative has not been involved in the negotiations for his client’s extension.

The relationship between Raiola and Milan has become tense since last season when Raiola refused a new contract for his client Gigio Donnarumma.

The 22-year-old, a product of the club’s academy, left the club at the end of his contract in June, joining PSG as a free agent.

Milan negotiate Romagnoli extension without Raiola

Milan fans blamed both Donnarumma and his agent and when the PSG star was booed during Italy’s Nations League semi-final last month, Raiola hit out at the Rossoneri.

“I am disgusted about the boos to Donnarumma and I ask myself why Milan didn’t intervene in some way,” the agent told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“Has he killed somebody? I don’t think so. The truth is that Milan didn’t have the strength to keep him, but it doesn’t make the difference.

Donnarumma booed: Raiola blames Milan

“Ask, anybody, ask a dad. What would he suggest to his son? Join PSG or stay at Milan?”

It remains to be seen whether or not Milan will eventually call Raiola to negotiate Romagnoli’s extension and what will happen with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, given that his deal at San Siro also expires at the end of the season.

Milan released a statement this afternoon insisting they have a “professional” rapport with all agents.

  1. @FootballItalia
This all already happened, and you already made like 20 articles about it. May I ask why are you rehashing those old posts? Out of new ways to provoke MIlan fans?

  2. I’ll be honest – if Ibra doesn’t renew next season, that’s ok with me. And if he does renew, it will need to be for a lot less than he currently makes. He is already more fragile than a year ago, next year will be even worse. To me his main contribution nowadays comes in the form of the winner mentality he instills in the team, even if he doesn’t play. I’d keep him around purely for that, as more of a coach than a player. But if Ibra does what Raiola tells him, then I’m happy for him to leave, no hard feelings.

  3. If it comes to that then Ibra has a choice : either his agent buddy or the club. If he chooses his agent, then he knows where the door is. Nothing comes before the club and he knows it. I doubt he will want to ruin his image with the fans though. He’ll just probably leave at the end of the season anyway, he did what he had to for Milan and was paid handsomely for it. We’re grateful but that agent is cancer. The sooner we sever ties with him completely the better.

  4. “Ask, anybody, ask a dad. What would he suggest to his son? Join PSG or stay at Milan?”

    Open letter to Mino :

Mino, I wouldn’t let my son play for PSG, and he would chose Milan ahead of PSG. The issue is Gigio didn’t decide, YOU did. And you made a considerable amount of money off the deal. Really hope he doesn’t wake up one day and realize he betrayed the club that made him to facilitate some more $’s in your pocket.
Actually the only thing I would advise my son on would be to stay away from blood sucking scum like you.

“Has he killed somebody? I don’t think so. The truth is that Milan didn’t have the strength to keep him, but it doesn’t make the difference.

Truth is he/you killed something larger than a person. Lost is the belief that football legacy means more than a couple of million $’s. Some may say it’s what drives the passion we fans have for the game, the loyalty we have for our teams.
Watching Gigio leave Milan put one more nail in coffin of that dream fans believe, that the players are out there for them, wearing the crest with pride .

Mino , you sir have no pride, class or integrity. Milan’s stance is justified, you are not there to negotiate a relationship between player and club, you are there to force the deal in whatever direction puts cash in you pocket. Often at the peril of club and player. That’s the ” truth “.

  5. @Emo fans, I’m not at all a fan of Raiola and I think FIFA should change the rules for agents and set a max percentage of a transfer that an agent can receive (5%?), but to say things like “you are there to force the deal in whatever direction puts cash in you pocket. Often at the peril of club and player” is kinda dumb. I’ve never really heard of any major Raiola clients leaving him. Obviously they’re satisfied with the money the make from the moves he orchestrates. Ex. A is Ibrahimovic. He’s been with Raiola for ever, he’s won everything except the CL and WC, and he gets paid handsomely. Do clubs suffer? Sure, but they can also choose not to spend the money and sign someone else. The reason Raiola gets away with it is that fundamentally there is always a market. And then clubs moan and complain about their finances and needing a super league. Just don’t pay 45m and 7.4m euro salary for a player like Bernardeschi for example.

  6. The thing that bothers me the most is that there no governing body to oversee agents/players transfers.
When it comes to fans behavior or racism on the stands, there are severe punishments from
football authorities and rightly so, but when an agent, acting on behalf of the player ignores basic
rules of normality for the sake of his/her monetary satisfaction, ignoring all parties involved,
There is no rules or conversations from Football authorities and there is no governing body to oversee
    the agents representation
They are should be working under certain rules like referees and players, because they all part
of something that united us all and that is a love of Football!

  7. Governing bodies do not care about agents when they are part of the huge problem football is currently facing. Raiola is just a cancer, but where there are loopholes and incentives to make more money, people (agents) will be there
