According to Sky Sport Italia, Milan are the favourites to sign Eintracht Frankfurt creative midfielder Daichi Kamada as a free agent, but Borussia Dortmund provide more competition than Napoli.

The Japan international is coming to the end of his contract on June 30 and will not extend with his current club.

There had been interest from Napoli earlier in 2023, but it seems as if they have now turned their focus towards other targets.

Kamada’s links with Serie A go even further back, as he was close to joining Genoa in 2019.

Now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio believes the race is largely down to only two sides, Milan and Borussia Dortmund.

He turns 27 in August and can play in a variety of midfield roles, so could be used in the position currently held by Brahim Diaz or a deeper spot in place of Ismael Bennacer.

That is particularly important now that Bennacer has been ruled out for six months by knee surgery.

So far this season, Kamada has played 44 competitive games for Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists.
