Milan preparing multi-year contract for Pioli

Stefano Pioli brought glory back to Milan once again and the club are reportedly preparing to reward him with a new long-term contract.

The 56-year-old Italian coach joined the Rossoneri in October 2019, being the replacement for the dismissed Marco Giampaolo, and he immediately started working on a project alongside managers Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. The fruits of their labour was seen last season when Milan lifted their first Scudetto in over a decade.

As reported by Tuttosport, Pioli’s current contract with Milan expires in 2023 but contains an option for a further year, but the club want to tie him down with a new deal.

The current idea is to move forward with a multi-year contract, longer than just two years, and the parties will work on an agreement in the coming weeks.

Since his arrival in October 2019, Pioli has overseen 149 Milan matches, averaging 1.97 points per match.
