As Club Brugge explain the ‘situation is all a bit too much’ for Charles De Ketelaere, Milan reportedly increase their offer for the creative midfielder, including a percentage of the sell-on fee.

The latest proposal had seemed to be the final one from the Serie A champions, at €30m plus €2m in bonuses, but that too was rejected.

Club Brugge are holding out for at least €35m plus add-ons, seeing as Leeds United had proposed up to €37m for the player, who has his sights only on San Siro.

With that in mind, De Ketelaere wasn’t even in the squad for yesterday’s Jupiler League season opener, a 3-2 victory over KRC Genk.

“I will do everything I can for him, but the situation is all a bit much for Charles,” coach Carl Hoefkens told reporters.

Now Sport Mediaset claim that Milan have increased their bid yet again to €33m including add-ons, plus a 10 per cent cut of any future sale.

  1. @JUVENESIA because the juve model of paying over the top wages and fees has worked wonders the past few seasons.

  2. Negotiation as opposed to desperately throwing money around. Done well because Milan are run very well. Maldini knows the guy wants Milan so he can make sure to get the best deal by playing that card against Brugge. To end up getting him for millions less than Leeds offer would be impressive.

  3. @DB Milan

Not really saving millions with the supposed 10% sell-on fee. If he is later sold for >€36M the cost will virtually equal Leeds bid, €37M. Milan are just broke, which is incredibly sad considering the league was just won.

  4. @Juvenesia: that club won the latest scudetto, with 16 points clear of Juve, if my memory serves me well. And did the “grande” Juve, with all that money pouring into big names “, win any Champions League final lately?

  5. We tired of waiting and time is not our friend maldini and masara should act fast so that the new signing can join the team before the league start

  6. Milan are too cheap, its a sad sight to see- but they havent learnt anything after berlusconni left.

If i was maldini – i would spend my time arrnaging meeting with the saudi’s(newcastle owner) or the qatari’s to but the club – as they would spend

  7. Believe me you,Charles will end up at LEEDS UNITED. Leeds are offering €37M and Milan are offering €33M. I am tired of this stingy management 😒.

  8. Is so so annoying, first Almighty Milan dragging player with Newcastle and they won, now wilh Leeds, tomorrow derby county, is a shame ohh, you have the money, spend NO, buy the wants that are free Agent NO…. What a stingy generation bcoz is annoying reading same News over and over, Buy him or let other clubs have him… Period!!!! Look at Sanches, Botman, CDK etc, when will this nonsense stop, look at clubs like Barcelona buying ohh and they don’t have money.. this is funny ouhh

  9. @Poverty Milanista
A fair point but they won’t care about that 10% right now. Its about getting the job done this summer and then the new owners should be in place. Milan are in a better financial state right now than they have been for the last few years and look at what the team managed. Considering we just won the league, I would expect more optimism, patience and trust in the club from the fans.
