Former Milan defender Stefano Nava has applauded the club for extending the contract of Mario Yepes.
The Colombian stopper was only tied to the Diavolo until June, but he’s been handed a new 12-month agreement after Alessandro Nesta decided to quit San Siro.
“Yepes is not a world class player, but he’s always been ready when called upon,” Nava noted.
“When boss Massimiliano Allegri has selected him, he has always responded with substantial and positive performances.”
The South American, 36, played in 11 Serie A games this term. He joined the club from Chievo in 2010.
Nava was a product of Milan’s youth system and was a fringe player, like Yepes, with the outfit until his 1995 exit.
