Luka Jovic received a straight red card in Milan‘s 4-2 loss to Monza and was rated 3/10 by La Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday.
It’s no surprise to see low ratings for the Serbia international in Monday’s printed editions of Italian sports papers.
Jovic was sent off at minute 51 after hitting Armando Izzo in the face and Italian newspapers, especially Gazzetta, had no mercy for the ex-Real Madrid striker.
Jovic was rated 3/10 by the pink paper. Journalist Luca Bianchin commented: ‘At 26, it is not something that a high-level player does.’
More Milan players were clearly not up to the task. Thiaw was rated 4/10 by all three Italian sports papers. The German centre-back had started his first game since November, but caused a penalty kick and was dribbled past before the break for Monza’s second goal.
His poor performance even sparked an argument between Matteo Gabbia and Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta after the final whistle.
Christian Pulisic, on the other hand, received high ratings as he was involved in both Milan goals. The American winger was introduced as a substitute in the second half and assisted Olivier Giroud and before bagging his 7th goal in 23 Serie A games this term.
