Milan are looking ahead to the January transfer window and are reportedly ready to send away two players on loan as they look to trim their squad a little, reports suggest.

The Rossoneri had an interesting summer as they looked to add the right pieces to their squad following their successful Scudetto charge last season, with the most exciting addition being Club Brugge talent Charles De Ketelaere. Other arrivals over the last few months include Malick Thiaw and Aster Vranckx, two players who have had little impact in Lombardy since their arrivals.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan are looking to send away Mattia Gabbia on loan in January, hoping to find a club where the 22-year-old Italian can receive regular playing time. The defender has slipped down the hierarchies in Stefano Pioli’s squad and has only played seven minutes of action so far this campaign.

Gabbia was close to a loan move to Sampdoria in the summer and this idea could be reignited as the winter transfer window approaches.

The other player that the Rossoneri are looking to send away on loan is the 18-year-old Marko Lazetic, who has hardly had an impact for the club since joining in January from Red Star. The teenager has impressed for the Primavera squad but isn’t likely to break into Pioli’s first team, so Milan want to find somewhere where he can continue his development.

Lazetic did not want to leave the Milanese club in the summer and turned down multiple offers, so he’ll need to be convinced ahead of January.
