Milan are reportedly planning to swap Franck Kessie for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Torreira is Milan’s top target this summer and the key to his arrival is Kessie.

The newspaper explains the Rossoneri no longer view the Ivorian as untouchable and are prepared to part with him for a fee upwards of €30m.

Despite being one of the Diavolo’s most involved players since his arrival from Atalanta two years ago, he was fined for a spat with Lucas Biglia towards the end of last season and was unhappy about being fined double his teammate.

He later came under fire for parading Francesco Acerbi’s shirt with Tiemoue Bakayoko after Milan’s 1-0 win against Lazio in April.

On the other hand, incoming Coach Marco Giampaolo sees Torreira as a cornerstone of his San Siro project, having worked with him at Sampdoria.

Il Corriere adds Arsenal value the 23-year-old at €50m and that Milan are ‘confident’ of a cash-plus-Kessie deal, despite negotiations having yet to take place.

It comes after the Uruguayan admitted he was struggling to adapt to life in England and was alleged to be holding out for a move back to Italy.
