According to multiple reports in Italy, Milan have opened talks with Tottenham for the loan of Japhet Tanganga, but the two parties haven’t reached an agreement yet.

The 22-year-old is not a regular starter in North London, while Milan are looking for a centre-back to strengthen their defensive department and offer more options to Stefano Pioli.

Fikayo Tomori has been forced out of action for at least one month, while Simon Kjaer will return next season after suffering ACL tear.

Both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Calciomercato.com report the Rossoneri and Tottenham are in talks over a possible loan move, but Spurs are currently not open to letting the product of their academy leave on loan.

However, according to Calciomercato.com, Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici could change his mind over the next few days given that Eric Dier has returned to action after an injury and Cristian Romer will do the same soon, meaning Tanganga will see his playing time reduced.

Milan chiefs also consider other options, including Manchester United’s Eric Bailly or PSG’s Abdu Diallo.

The Serie A giants won’t make a big-money signing in January as they plan a significant investment in the summer to get either Sven Botman from Lille or Gleison Bremer from Torino.
