The Diavolo have had a problematic beginning to the season after collecting just 11 points from eight games this term.
However, the goalkeeper thinks his side proved a point to onlookers in their 1-1 draw with Barcelona on Tuesday.
“We are picking ourselves up after a not very easy start to the campaign,” the World Cup winner told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We did well in the Champions League against Barcelona and now we have to start climbing in the championship.
“On Tuesday we collected an excellent point, but what was more important was the performance.
“Not only did we play on a level par with Barca, but we actually caused them problems. This should be used to push us on and give us belief in Serie A.”
Milan are away at Parma on Sunday.
