Milan are now the Serie A leaders with a two-point lead, although it is technically three points, as they have a superior head-to-head record over Inter.

That means the Rossoneri have their fate in their hands, but also what on paper is a tougher run-in, as the Serie A title race could go down to the wire.

Serie A | Bologna 2-1 Inter: Radu howler is a Scudetto gift for Milan

A win in Bologna would’ve sent Inter one point top of the table, but the Week 20 fixture postponed from January 6 due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the Rossoblu camp did not go the way they expected at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

Ivan Perisic’s opener was cancelled out by a Marko Arnautovic header, then late on Ionut Radu’s howler on a throw-in allowed Nicola Sansone to tap in from a yard.

Milan are two points clear at the top now, but their advantage is technically three points, because they have the advantage in head-to-head record with Inter.

That is because they earned a draw and a victory over the course of the campaign.

Therefore, if Milan win three and draw one of their remaining four games, the Scudetto is theirs.

  1. Yep. Milan can afford another draw even if Inter win all their remaining matches.

Let’s not forget though, Milan should be already 8 or 9 points clear at the top and not just 2, so practically sure of the Scudetto. It would be hilarious if Inter couldn’t even win with all those favors going their way.

  2. Very true @Milan Fan, but as I said before in another posting, we have to not get carried away with their business. We have the harder run in and knowing us we have or could easily gift it back to them. I just hope Pioli can find the courage and never start with Diaz.

  3. Udinese 5-2 inter
    inter 2-1 Empoli
    Cagliari 1-0 inter
    inter 2-2 Sampdoria

inter finish 3rd behind Milan & Juve.

  4. @ Milanista

For sure. You’re right. Ideally, Diaz shouldn’t start in the remaining matches. I’ve been saying that for 8 months now.

Tell you one thing though, I take top half of the table teams as opponents for Milan over bottom of the table teams all day. If they attack and leave spaces we have more of a chance to win, but if they put 10 in their box, we’d be in trouble.

  5. Congratulations, Milan fans. Scudetto is yours. You deserved it. We must protect second place. I beieve we win against Udinese and Sampdoria but we drop points against Cagliari and Empoli. Pinamonti will score. Too bad Napoli lost by Empoli. I’d believe in Napoli.

  6. @milan fan you are right we should be 8/9 points ahead but then let me ask you, who was on top of the table by Christmas?
I’m don’t mind we win three and draw one of our 4 remaining games, and if possible they (inter) win all we would end up with same point but champion 🏆 I don’t care, Milan all the way
    Milan 3:0 Florentine

  7. And please Diaz should come on as a sub, lately he plays better that way, no room for mistakes please it’s all up to Milan

  8. Milan should gather courage and win all the 4 games remaining. Pioli should start Zlatan instead of Giroud against Fiorentina,Messias over Saelermeakers and Bennacer/Tonali at double 4.

  9. lol @ Cypher. I like that. Too wishful but I like it. Udinese you’ve kinda made into 2019 Atalanta but ok 😀

  10. I just hope we win the league, Diaz has lost form and we are practicable. We can play wingbacks and 2 strikers , we have the resources . Giroud and zlatan …3-5-2. 4 defensive midfielders. We seriously need to score a lot more and finish games . Lately to we are conceding too early . Players must be tired too
