Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirms “we have signed with Watford and given permission for M’Baye Niang to have a medical.”

The striker is due to make the move on loan with €18m option to buy that will become mandatory after a certain number of appearances.

“We have signed with Watford, so it’s all very close to completion,” Galliani told Rai Sport this evening.

“(Watford and Udinese patron Gino) Pozzo just told me they basically have an agreement with the player, that’s down to details.

“Five minutes ago we gave him the all-clear to go to London and have the medical, so if he’s going to London, then he wants the move.”

Galliani was asked about reports Lucas Ocampos was the favourite to replace Niang, arriving from Genoa.

“Ocampos is certainly an option, we agreed with (President Enrico) Preziosi to wait two or three days. He hasn’t said yes, but not no either. As usual, the market is about putting together various moving pieces so they all fit, as Genoa need a replacement for Ocampos.”
