Milan must pay up for Piatek

Sky Sport Italia insist Genoa won’t let Krzysztof Piatek join Milan for less than €40m plus bonuses, rejecting any loan with option deal.

There had been reports in Poland today that Piatek’s move to San Siro was imminent, on a very expensive loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

However, Sky pundit Gianluca Di Marzio maintains there is no truth to this, as Genoa want to make the most of Piatek’s sensational form in the first few months of the season.

That means securing a large cash sum with guaranteed exit.

Because the two clubs are close and regularly do deals, they could drop the price-tag to €40m plus bonuses, which would be very tricky for the Rossoneri to sustain.

Milan won’t let Gonzalo Higuain go to Chelsea unless they have found a replacement.
