After PSG intercepted for Renato Sanches, now Milan are reportedly turning towards Sassuolo midfielder Hamed Junior Traore.

The Rossoneri have long been in agreement with Sanches, but failed to work out a transfer fee with LOSC and were beaten to the punch by Paris Saint-Germain.

Not prepared to increase their offer of circa €15m including bonuses, Milan are now turning to different targets.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they have contacted Sassuolo to discuss the possibility of signing Traore instead.

The 22-year-old Ivory Coast international was a product of the Empoli youth academy who joined Sassuolo on loan and then on a permanent basis for €16m from 2019.

Traore scored eight goals and provided four assists in 32 competitive games for Sassuolo this season and was also heavily linked with a possible move to Napoli.

His asking price is in the region of €25m, but his versatility makes him a valuable figure, able to play as a trequartista behind the striker, in a deeper midfield role or on the left wing.

9 thought on “Milan move from Renato Sanches to Sassuolo’s Traore”
  1. Good move. He knows the league and is an exciting player. Sanchez is a risk as he has flopped in England and Germany.

  2. This milan path befome unclear..

Better focus on right side and the attacking midfielder with clear target.. not like jumping around with so many targets..

  3. This is absolutely media nonsense. Milan refuses to pay a renown Sanches for 30m but willing to pay untested Traore for 25m? Are you nuts, Gazzetta?

  4. I’d pay twice whatever Traore’s price is for Sanches, because I rate him twice over Traore, even with his injury record and his past failures.

I’ve seen enough matches from Sanches to know his quality. When he gets going he’s simply unplayable, a real baller. You’d know if you had watched him against Chelsea last season or against us the season before.

Traore can’t hold a candle to a fit Renato Sanches. I expected a very different start to the transfer window after winning the Scudetto and I’m annoyed af with all these rumors, which is only surrounding Milan by the way.

  5. These “versatile” players, i’ve had enough with.
Borini, Honda, Saelemaekers, Birsa, Constant, Castillejo etc etc. At least Suso was clear, he’s bad and a one trick pony but we know that is his only position on the RW.. a poor man’s Robben essentially.
But these “versatile” players are mediocre and a waste of time. These are no Zambrotta that we are talking about so please stop with this non-sense.
