Another Milan transfer target is evaporating, as Leeds United are now in for PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo, with news Chelsea have beaten Arsenal to Raphinha.

The transfer market is always a domino effect that goes throughout Europe and this summer will be no different.

According to Voetbal International and Tuttomercatoweb, the Rossoneri had made an initial approach for PSV Eindhoven winger Gakpo.

However, before even getting close to the 23-year-old, Leeds United have dived in with a superior offer.

They changed tack because their star man Raphinha is on the verge of a move to Chelsea in a deal worth almost €60m.

Leeds player Raphinha had been close to Arsenal until the sudden switch today, as reported by multiple sources.

It has been a rough 48 hours for Milan, who saw LOSC defender Sven Botman have his Newcastle United medical, while today Renato Sanches switched allegiance to Paris Saint-Germain, even though they are offering Lille a lower transfer fee.

6 thought on “Milan miss out on Gakpo after Leeds, Chelsea and Arsenal domino effect”
  1. A shame. A really good winger. Scorer and creator. Fast and unpredictable.

I would have loved to see him in the ACM shirt.

  2. Thank god. Origi is enough for 1 day!
Im struggling to understand if we are aiming to ‘defend’ our scudetto win or if we are aiming to get relegated!

  3. It’s more likely Gakpo goes to Arsenal now over Leeds. Raphina was target no. 1, there’s been mild talk about Gakpo previously, so it’s feasible Arsenal will snatch him ahead of both.

  4. The time has arrived when players would rather go to Newcastle than Milan. Paris, OK you can understand but Newcastle? Money talks.
