Milan had been hoping to pocket €31m from the sale of Andrea Conti, Mattia Caldara and Diego Laxalt, but it looks as if all three will return to base.

The Rossoneri sent out the trio on loan this season with options to make their moves permanent.

However, Calciomercato.com points out none of their current clubs are prepared to activate those options, so they could all remain on the Milan books.

Full-back Conti had hoped to rediscover his fitness at Parma and make the loan permanent for €7m, which would’ve been a contractual obligation had they avoided relegation.

The Ducali were relegated and are currently on track to finish bottom of the Serie A table, so Conti’s contract with Milan until June 2022 remains valid.

Caldara had gone back to his old club Atalanta for 18 months in January 2020, but made just nine appearances this season and La Dea have no intention of paying the €15m to buy him outright.

As for Laxalt, he initially made a good impression at Celtic, but Tuttosport claim the Scottish club aren’t prepared to pay the €9m option to buy.

Put together, that’s €31m in revenue from the transfer market than Milan had budgeted for and isn’t coming their way.
