The agent representing Roma defender Roger Ibanez was spotted at the Milan headquarters today, as he seems to be the alternative to Lille’s Sven Botman.

When Ludovico Spinosi was caught on camera walking into Casa Milan and leaving after an hour-long meeting, the race was on to figure out who he was talking to them about.

Amongst others, he is also an intermediary for Gabriel Jesus of Manchester City and Real Madrid-owned midfielder Reinier.

However, Radio Radio claim he was discussing the position of Roma centre-back Ibanez.

The 23-year-old was purchased from Atalanta initially on loan and then permanently from January 2020 at a cost of €9m plus bonuses.

If he is sold on before June 2024, then Atalanta are also owed a further €1m or 10 per cent of the sell-on fee.

Ibanez is one of the most used players at Roma under Jose Mourinho, making 51 competitive appearances, in which he also scored four goals.

With reports Roma are hoping to return to four at the back next term, Ibanez could potentially be up for sale.

Milan are finding it far too difficult to bring in Botman from Lille, as Newcastle United offer far more than their €15m plus bonuses, so Ibanez would be a cheaper and still young option who already knows Serie A.

  1. LOL. Roma are not selling Ibanez for 15 measly million. With his potential he is atleast worth 40 or 45 mill in this current crazy market

  2. How stupid is this article? Ibanez would be cheaper than Botman? You really think Roma would sell him for less than 30 million? Roma wouldn’t sell Kumbula for less than 20 million. Ibanez was a key player for Roma last 2 seasons and he is getting better…
