Milan are meeting Predrag Mijatovic over a potential deal for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, but Luka Modric will not be joining.

Mijatovic is arguably best known to Serie A audiences for his spell at Fiorentina between 1999 and 2002, but the former Real Madrid attacker has since gone into player management.

Milan News saw him arrive at the Rossoneri’s offices for a meeting with club officials, while Gazzetta dello Sport believes Lovren will be the topic of discussion.

The Croat seems to have gone up in the Diavolo’s estimation after Ozan Kabak chose to join Schalke.

Mijatovic is an intermediary working on behalf of agent Vlado Lemic, who represents the likes of Lovren, Nemanja Matic and Modric.

La Gazzetta claims new Milan executive Zvonimir Boban had called the Madrid midfielder while he was on holiday to convince him to sign for the club.

However, the 33-year-old would have responded negatively to his countryman as he instead looks to extend his contract with Los Blancos.
