Milan talks with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku continue, but the Rossoneri won’t offer more than €6.5m per season to the ex-Roma and Inter striker, according to Gazzetta.

Lukaku has emerged as a transfer target in attack for Milan, given that Joshua Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, seems unwilling to lower his request of €15m commission for the Dutch striker.

Milan have already opened preliminary talks with Chelsea for Lukaku but won’t match the Blues’ €40m asking price.

According to Gazzetta, even €30m would be too much for the Rossoneri who hope to get the ex-Inter and Roma striker on loan with an option to buy, a formula that Chelsea won’t consider at the moment.

Milan are keeping a close eye on sustainability as well, so they won’t offer Lukaku more than €6.5m per season, according to Gazzetta.

However, Lukaku spent the last two years in Italy, so Milan can still use the Growth Decree to save 50% of his gross salary. Lukaku currently earns €12m net at Chelsea.

According to the report, Lukaku has recently opened the door to a move to the Saudi Pro League, but with Milan and Napoli still interested in securing his signature, the striker will probably wait for offers from Italian and European clubs.
