Charles De Ketelaere has been left out of the Milan squad for tonight’s Trofeo Berlusconi match against Monza, with reports he will have his Atalanta medical tomorrow.

The creative midfielder has been in intensive negotiations for the transfer over the last week, which would be initially on loan for €3m with an option to buy at the end of the season.

That option could be activated for €23m plus another €4m in add-ons.

The two clubs had reached a full agreement, so it was up to De Ketelaere to work out personal terms with La Dea.

Things seem to be progressing rapidly now, because the Belgium international is left out of the Milan team for this evening’s pre-season friendly against Monza.

At the same time, Foot Mercato report that De Ketelaere has a medical scheduled with Atalanta set for Wednesday.

He failed to contribute a single goal in his debut season after the €35.5m plus bonuses move from Club Brugge last summer.
