Milan have made an initial offer worth €5m plus bonuses for Toulouse midfielder Amine Adli.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Calciomercato.com and Sportitalia, the proposal was made on Tuesday evening and they are waiting for a response from the Ligue 2 side.
The performance-related bonuses would take the total sum of the transfer fee up to a maximum of €7m.
They face competition from Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Marseille, but Milan remain the favourites for Adli.
The player turned 21 last month and is a product of the FC Toulouse youth academy.
He contributed an impressive eight goals and eight assists in 36 competitive games for Toulouse this season.
