The news of the postponement of Milan’s fixture at Bologna had a troublesome knock-on effect for the Rossoneri, as two key players will miss their clash against Napoli next Tuesday.

Both Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders were suspended for the game against Vincenzo Italiano’s side after picking up red cards, but since their Stadio Dall’Ara fixture was called off due to a weather warning, their ban will apply to the Rossoneri’s following Serie A match.

Coach Paulo Fonseca will be forced to do without Theo Hernandez and Reijnders in a key fixture for their title fight, as the duo will be banned from Milan’s meeting against Antonio Conte’s Napoli next Tuesday.

Theo Hernandez was suspended for two games after getting a red card at Fiorentina for his protests towards referee Luca Pairetto after the final whistle, while Reijnders was sent off in the first half against Udinese after a foul on Sande Lovric.

Both were expected to miss Milan’s away trip at Bologna, but the game was officially suspended due to adverse weather conditions on Thursday, meaning their suspension will be valid in the following match against the Partenopei.

Reijnders played arguably his best match of the season with the Rossoneri on Tuesday, when he scored a brace to inspire his side’s first win in the Champions League over Club Brugge.
