Milan seem to be leading the race for Midtjylland attacking winger Gustav Tang Isaksen ahead of Juventus, as Samuel Chukwueze is proving too difficult.

The Rossoneri need a player on the left who can mirror the threat provided by Rafael Leao on the right, fixing the unbalanced nature of their tactical approach under Stefano Pioli.

Chukwueze was the first choice, but there are a few issues with the 24-year-old Nigeria international.

He is a non-EU player, and Milan only have one spot left in the squad for someone without a European Union passport, having already signed Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.

Villarreal are refusing to lower the €30m asking price for Chukwueze, despite the fact he only has one year left to run on his contract.

With all that in mind, Milan are reportedly leading towards going for Isaksen instead.

The Denmark Under-21 international has also been linked with Juventus, so the Diavolo would need to make the bid early to avoid any more competition.

Isaksen scored 22 goals and provided nine assists in 45 competitive games for Midtjylland last season.
