Milan are reportedly interested in Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior to boost Stefano Pioli’s options in January.

Fikayo Tomori is the only fit centre-back currently available for the Rossoneri following Malick Thiaw’s injury against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Simon Kjer, Marco Pellegrino and Mattia Caldara are also out of action, so Calciomercato.com reports Pioli will promote 18-year-old defender Jan-Carlo Simić to the senior team for the upcoming Serie A fixture with Frosinone.

According to the report, Milan won’t sign a free agent before January but will try to get a new defender during the winter transfer window. Daniele Longo claims Arsenal centre-back Kiwior is their primary target with the Rossoneri willing to discuss a potential loan move with the Gunners. According to the report, reaching an agreement with Arsenal will be ‘difficult, but not impossible’ for the Rossoneri.

Kiwior joined Arsenal from Spezia for €25m in January 2023 but has only made eight appearances across all competitions this term, starting just two Premier League matches.

Benoît Badiashile, Konstantinos Koulierakis, Maxime Estève and Lloyd Kelly are also on the Rossoneri’s radars. However, Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth expires in June 2024 and the Premier League side are unwilling to sell the 25-year-old in the winter transfer window. Kelly has also been linked with Juventus and Inter.

  1. Arsenal will not let this “super fast” defender go cheaply. £40 million may temp them, or a swap deal. He will probably play tonight in the Arsenal Lens game.
