Arsenal-owned Pablo Marí is the latest centre-back linked with a move to Milan as the Spaniard is pushing to stay in Serie A after a six-month loan at Udinese.

Marí moved to the Dacia Arena on a dry loan deal in January and quickly became a regular starter in Friuli, where he collected 15 appearances in the second part of the season, scoring two goals.

Udinese don’t have an option to sign him permanently, and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Spaniard has emerged as one of Milan’s options to strengthen their defence in 2022-23. The Rossoneri have been in talks with Lille’s Sven Botman, but the deal has been put on hold because of the high economic demands from the Ligue 1 side.

Marí is a cheaper target for the Rossoneri, considering that he is not in Mikel Arteta’s plans. His contract at the Emirates Stadium runs out in June 2024, but the 28-year-old wants to leave earlier and is pushing to return to Serie A next season.

Inter are also monitoring the Arsenal defender and both Milanese clubs have set their sights on Torino‘s Gleison Bremer. However, the Nerazzurri must sell one of their defenders before knowing how much they can invest in a new signing at the back.
