Milan are keen to pick up FC Midtjylland’s Raphael Onyedika this month but they’ve identified Bordeaux’s Jean Onana as a strong alternative, reports today claim.

The Rossoneri reportedly submitted a €4m plus add-ons offer to the Danish side for Onyedika, but that was rejected as Midtjylland look to secure at least double that fee. Milan are working hard to pick up a new centre back before the end of this month, and so are also considering other options.

As reported by Tuttosport, Milan’s first choice is still Onyedika despite the rejection of their first offer, but should the Midtjylland man prove impossible to secure then the Rossoneri would switch focus to Onana.

Milan have a good relationship with Bordeaux after the Yacine Adli deal and the 22-year-old Cameroonian centre back could likely be signed for €5m or less. His current contract expires with the Ligue 2 side in 2026.

Updates are expected next week, with Milan still focusing their efforts on Onyedika for the time being.

  1. reports state that he will become decent-slightly above average player – not a great high potential.
