Milan star Rafael Leao has suffered a first-degree lesion on his right femoral bicep, while Davide Calabria has a flexor problem, but lesions for the Italy international have been excluded following medical examinations on Sunday.
Both players were forced off the pitch in Milan’s 2-2 draw against Lecce on Saturday.
They underwent MRI scans on Sunday morning and medical tests highlighted a first-degree femoral bicep injury for Leao who had been subbed off after barely 10 minutes at the Stadio Via Del Mare.
Leao’s recovery time is still uncertain, but it seems unlikely that the Portuguese will join his national team for games against Liechtenstein and Iceland during the November break.
Calabria’s injury seems less severe as Italian sources, including MilanPress and Milan News, claim the Italian defender has an oedema caused by left flexor overload, but exams ruled out lesions for the Rossoneri captain.
Calabria had been called up by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti for the first time and it remains to be seen if he’ll be available for the Azzurri for games against North Macedonia and Ukraine.
Calabria made his last Italy appearance in June 2022 against Germany in the Nations League.
