Rafael Leao received a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal in recent days but rejected the proposal, not wanting to leave Milan this summer.

The 25-year-old Portuguese winger, who is currently away at the European Championship, has continued to be a talismanic figure for the Rossoneri, even if he was the target of much criticism this term. In Stefano Pioli’s last season in charge, he scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists across 47 games.

In recent weeks, numerous reports have detailed serious interest in Leao from multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia, who are seemingly willing to pay around €100m to snap up the Milan star this summer, causing some concern amongst supporters.

Page 23 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Al-Hilal sent an offer to Antonio Leao, the Milan winger’s father and representative, through an emissary, willing to give him a contract worth €20m net per season.

Wanted by Jorge Jesus at the Saudi club, the 25-year-old rejected the proposal, not wanting to give up on the Rossoneri, who’d only be willing to sell him for his €175m release clause.
