Milan are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and have started considering a move for AZ Alkmaar’s Tijjani Reijnders, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The Rossoneri are in a state of flux following Gerry Cardinale’s decision to dismiss technical director Paolo Maldini earlier this month, reshaping their summer transfer market plans.

Stefano Pioli’s side took a step back this season following their Scudetto success and only scraped a fourth-place finish, so reinforcements are needed to try and close the gap at the top of the table.

Di Marzio details how Milan have started to think about picking up AZ Alkmaar midfielder Reijnders in the coming months, believing he could be a good fit for Pioli’s squad.

The 24-year-old, who can also play as a trequartista or a winger, recently received his first call up to the Dutch national team following a positive season in the Eredivisie, where he scored four goals and provided seven assists across 34 matches.

The Dutch midfielder is contracted to AZ until June 2027 and has an estimated market value of around €8-10m.
