Manchester United will not purchase Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina, but he could return to Serie A for Milan or Juventus.

The midfielder made the move last summer on loan for €9m with an option to buy for a further €20m plus €5m in add-ons.

He has been used largely out of position at Old Trafford, even occasionally as a left-back, and failed to impress enough to earn a transfer.

It is widely reported that Manchester United will not buy him outright, but Fiorentina do not intend to play him when he returns either.

Juventus had already been linked with the Morocco international, but Tuttosport suggest now that Milan are interested in making a move for Amrabat as well.

The Rossoneri are looking for a figure in midfield who could provide a more defensive approach to the current squad under Stefano Pioli.

Other potential alternatives for the role include Walace of Udinese and FC Basel midfielder Renato Veiga.
