Gigio Donnarumma thanked his teammates and PSG fans after making his debut with the Ligue 1 giants: ‘Milan is the past.’

The 22-year-old played his first competitive game with PSG in their 4-0 win against Clermont on Saturday.

The Italy international had started the first two Ligue 1 games on the bench.

“The game is always special, it was a great result too,” the former Milan star said in a post-match interview.

“We prepared for the game well. I thank the fans who gave us incredible support. I am thrilled about my debut because we are a strong team,” he continued.

“Milan is the past, I am enjoying PSG. I am happy here and the team welcomed me well. We try to win as many matches as possible and make fans happy because they give us incredible support.”

The 22-year-old also thanked PSG fans with a message on Instagram.

Donnarumma completed a free move to the Parc des Princes in the summer, signing a contract until June 2026.

His contract with Milan expired in June 2021, just a few weeks before Italy’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2020.

Donnarumma was named Player of the Tournament after saving decisive penalties against Spain and England.

It was the first time a goalkeeper was named the best player at the Euros.

Donnarumma made his senior Milan debut in 2015, aged 16. He made 251 appearances with the Rossoneri winning one Italian Super Cup in 2016.

  1. Stupid, favored the money over prestige. If you stayed, you almost got the same, but the difference, the fans would say this guy truly loves football rather than the money.

  2. Lol , enjoy the farmers league Dollarumma. Being the king among weaklings is nothing to be proud of, and you’re not even that. You’ll never gonna be king of kings and you’ll never win the Champions League with PSG. Mark my words.

  3. Must be a really proud moment for him. Winning the Euros and then being relegated to the bench until it’s time to face the newly promoted team. He’s living the dream.
