La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan are looking to sign Barcelona’s French defender Jean-Clair Todibo in January, on loan with option to buy for €10m.

With Leo Duarte injured and Mattia Caldara struggling to regain fitness following lengthy spells on the sidelines, the newspaper reports that the Rossoneri are looking at strengthening the centre of their defence.

Todibo only joined the Spanish giants less than a year ago from Ligue 1 side Toulouse for €1m, but has found playing time hard to come by, making only three appearances in all competitions this season.

That included last night's 2-1 Champions League victory away to Inter.

Milan director Paolo Maldini is thought to be an admirer of the 20-year-old and has began talks with Barcelona counterpart Eric Abidal about the possibility of a deal for Todibo.

Todibo has a release clause of €150m, but Milan are hoping to strike a loan deal with an obligation to buy for around €10m.

La Gazzetta claim that Barca would like to insert a buyback clause in any deal for the Frenchman.
