Mats Hummels is reportedly set to leave Borussia Dortmund as a free agent this summer and Milan are interested in making him an offer.

The 35-year-old central defender is preparing for tomorrow night’s Champions League Final against Real Madrid, which is set to be his final game for the club.

According to reports in Germany, he will not be signing a new contract and will therefore be a free agent from June 30.

Milan looking at Hummels

Transfer pundit Patrick Berger suggests that Milan are ready to approach the veteran to bring more experience to their defence for next season.

Hummels would effectively be replacing Simon Kjaer, who has left at the end of his contract.

He made 39 appearances so far for Borussia Dortmund this season and also managed to score four goals.

Juventus had also been linked with a potential approach for the man with 78 senior caps for Germany under his belt.
