Milan are reportedly advancing in negotiations with AS Monaco for Youssouf Fofana, but are still a long way off the €25m asking price.

The links with the midfielder are not new, but today both Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio and La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that they are intensifying their pursuit.

Monaco want €25m to make a sale, but considering Fofana is only under contract until June 2025, the Rossoneri maintain that is an unrealistic price-tag.

They hope to get a deal done for €18m including bonuses, but also still need to work out personal terms with the 25-year-old himself.

Milan aiming for Fofana

Fofana is currently participating in the EURO 2024 tournament with France, where he made two brief substitute appearances in the group stage.

He has also earned interest from the likes of Juventus, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, but the Bianconeri have turned their focus more towards OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

Monaco paid €15m to sign him from Strasbourg in January 2020 and this season he scored four goals with four assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances.
