Milan strikers Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic reportedly trained separately from the rest of the team today, while Tiemoue Bakayoko continued his treatment for an adductor injury.
Milan released an official statement after today’s training session at Milanello.
“The group began the afternoon with muscle activation in the gym before heading out onto the pitch to continue the warm-up with various athletic drills using hurdles and dummies. After this, they moved on to technical work: passing and carrying the ball at speed. Once the first part of the session was over, the team – divided into two groups – did a series of themed rondos and work on possession of the football. This was then followed by finishing drills and, to conclude, the usual game on a reduced pitch.”
According to Milannews, both Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic trained separately from the group today. The France striker picked up a knock against Napoli but should be available for Saturday’s Serie A clash against Empoli as he didn’t even undergo medical tests after Sunday’s match at the Stadio Maradona.
Ibrahimovic made his first appearance in nearly two months against Napoli when he was introduced in the final minutes of the game in Naples.
Tiemoue Bakayoko continued his treatment for an adductor injury today, while Alessio Romagnoli is still on the sidelines due to a problem in his left adductor. Milan said last week that the medical staff would assess the defender’s condition day by day. It remains to be seen if the Italy international will be available on Saturday.
Hopefully this young guy Lazetic gets some minutes against Empoli.
That will depend on how things go in the first 70mins I suppose…
