Milan have two new injury concerns going into the Europa League quarter-final with Roma, as well as Mike Maignan in need of tests.
The Rossoneri were held to a 3-3 draw today by Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium, so failed to create a bigger cushion from Juventus and Bologna.
Maignan did not make the trip because of a muscular twinge, and although it was only a precaution, the goalkeeper will require further tests before next Thursday’s Europa League showdown with Roma.
There were further problems during that match, as Simon Kjaer and Malick Thiaw sustained muscular issues.
According to initial reports, with information also provided by coach Stefano Pioli, Thiaw only felt a particularly bad cramp during stoppages.
There are more concerns over Kjaer, who felt a twinge in his flexor before going straight back down the tunnel when substituted at the 55th minute.
Both will have tests over the next 48 hours to see if they are able to play against Roma.
Thiaw is a particular worry, because he will not be available for the Derby della Madonnina against Inter on Monday April 22, as he picked up a yellow card today and is therefore suspended.
If he is therefore out of the Roma match too, that limits squad rotation options.
