Milan are growing increasingly frustrated with the poor quality of refereeing in Serie A following the penalty denied to Torino in the draw with Inter.

The Granata were already 1-0 up when Andrea Belotti was clearly fouled in the penalty area by Andrea Ranocchia but things turned sour when it became clear that referee Marco Guida was not going to point to the penalty spot. VAR, led by Davide Massa, did not intervene either, confusing many.

As reported by Tuttosport, Milan are getting angrier and angrier due to the poor quality of officiating in the league, remembering incidents in matches against Napoli and Spezia, as well as when Matteo Marchetti allowed Destiny Udogie’s illegal equaliser to stand in the draw against Udinese.

The incidents seem small but in the context of the tight title race between the two Milanese clubs they could have huge ramifications. Both Guida and Massa are set to be suspended for three matches following their poor work in the Torino-Inter draw.

  1. Yeah actually milan are masters in crying about it… Man they still talk about the muntari goal, same how inter fans keep talking about 1998… Losers always hold tight to such momements to make it easier to themselves and stay in denial of their teams’ achievements.

    Pitty milan clubs.

  2. I can totally see that they have not been lucky with some ref calls this year.

Last year Milan was awarded 20 penalties. 20! Where many was dubious. That was the reason Milan ended up in CL and not EL, but you dont see them complaining last year.

Is it always the same in Italy. Everybody feel injustice and that is hard to do something about in football when the game is judged by a human being and challenges are not always clear/unclear.

  3. Look at 3 haters Jakes, Forza Moggi and Franscesco talking crap..

Its not about yesterdays incident its about the fact it occurred. Don’t you get it? Why on earth do we have VAR when it clearly doesn’t work, at least not making ref making the right calls. As for Milan yes they had many penalties last season, but that’s irrelevant when it comes to YESTERDAYS INCIDENT. As for this season, Milan clearly have lost points way more often because of bad referring then the opposite (and yes I watch every game from the top 6 teams) so spare yourself from brining up BS. Yesterday was shameful and anyone who doesn’t agree on that, well yeah then you are beyond biased.

  4. @ Francesco , Jakes

Of course Milan are desperate for our first Scudetto in a long time, but at least we are not paying the refs to fix matches despite having the best and most expensive squad in the league. All Milan penalties last season were correct except the one against Roma, and that was a makeup call by referee because he gave Roma a pen earlier when Pedro fouled Bennacer! Milan were up ne probably would’ve won that game if not for that mistake. So 10, 20 or 50 penalties it doesn’t make a difference if they’re all valid. I understand it’s a number you can throw around to make yourself feel better but Milan also hit the post a record time last season, and that should tell you something. Nobody gifted Milan anything. Don’t try to justify your corruption by talking nonsense here.

  5. It’s reported by Tuttosport, Turin based newspaper. And who’s infuriated by the ref anyway? There was no Maldini or Pioli interview. What a crap news!

  6. @ Forza moggi

Your comment I’m not surprised about. Many Juventus fans were so accustomed to getting ref favors that they feel entitled to at least a few gifted points every season. Man I can’t remember how many matches Milan lost or drew with Juve by dodgy last minute penalty calls. Of course you complain about Muntari incident, that incident decided the Scudetto and you want to forget about it but unfortunately for you it will remain in history. You won that game (and many others) by cheating, plain and simple. And you like it. You have always want more of the same before and ever since.

  7. Milan Fan – Torino was dudded yesterday with that clear penalty, but be careful with your hypocrisy as Milan was also penalised during calciopoli and let’s not forget the relegation to Serie B in the early 80’s for match fixing. As for your comment ‘paying the refs to fix matches’, unless you have clear proof, then best to zip it. I’m sure we never heard a sound from you last season when Milan was awarded many dubious penalties. Your just another fan with a loser mentality – whinge when you lose and gloat when you win whilst never giving credit to the opponent.

  8. Name one penalty for Milan that was dubious last season. Lol. Juventus made it to the CL by match fixing. Cuadrado penalty was a joke.

There were so many incidents in that 9 year stretch where Juventus got help from refs. Napoli and Roma would have each won a few trophies if the world was just.

Remember the penalty against De Sciglio when he was still at Milan for Juventus?

  9. Calcio poli was a scam. Inter and Juventus were the only culprits. Inter had to do a media trial, hid their role and decided to remove all competition in one swoop. Milan had proper positions for referring relations in their administration and did everything officially.

Juventus and Inter were the only cheats as was revealed after statute of limitation expired

  10. @ Frankie

Cheaters gonna cheat and then deny. It’s nothing new. You want me to give credit to Juventus after winning a title with a ghost goal? Or applaud Inter for the point they stole from Torino? How about they win fair and square and then clowns like you can come here and demand respect.

The fact remains that Juventus remains the most corrupt sport institutions in Italy, even if refs keep helping Inter for the next 10 years. I bet you were telling people to zip it during the calciopoli fiasco, too. And I already said my piece regarding Milan penalties last season. Scroll, read and come up with something new. People have got nothing against Milan, we have been wronged and it’s a fact. The rest is just people trying to justify their corrupt clubs’ shady doings by making things up. Good luck.

  11. @Milan Fan
… You do know AC Milan were relegated in the 80s for match-fixing, right?
I always find it amusing when Milan fans act all high and mighty and morally-superior about Juve and match-fixing. Buncha hypocrites.
To say nothing of the fact that calciopoli was a total farce…
Seeing the consistent levels of delusion amongst your fans almost makes me happy you guys’ll get screwed out of a title.

  12. No matter your club, vAR is useless if it isn’t being used. At least in the old days you knew someone made a phone call and games could be decided. But when you have the ability to review every goal and ignore that. It really is sad.

  13. All these Milan fans…When Roma talked about the referee issues you guys called Mou a crying baby, that RossoneroVero even used all sorts of nasty words on Mou, and now your coach is doing exactly the same thing but it’s completely ok?

  14. See bad attitude shown by Milan. They are trying to intervene and give pressure on other matches, the one that was never done by previous champion Juve and Inter.

  15. these terrible chains of corruption will always happening and unless every club stand against this corrupt institution. Either your side is in the advantageous position or the side left with the bitter decision, you have to raise your voices.
We all love Italian football and this scandal is gonna ruin it. I don’t know about you guys, but yo win something cheating is not satisfying at all

  16. Each team should be given at least one on field review per game. Should solve a lot of problems. You can’t give a handball as a goal or not give that penalty yesterday if reviewed on field. Take some power away from these useless refs. At least then a robbery will be a broad daylight one. Crowds will then walk out if continued as present..

  17. Why is a Turin-based newspaper trying to slander Maldini and Milan?
Maybe Milan should sue these papers for their bs narratives.
Maldini already said his piece during the Udinese match when Udinese equalized with a handball.
