Milan have reportedly opened talks to sign PSG defender Abdou Diallo, but the Ligue 1 giants want at least €20m.

The Rossoneri need a new centre-back in the January transfer window to replace the injured Simon Kjaer, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

According to Sky Sport Italia, PSG centre-back Diallo is the latest target for the Rossoneri and talks between the Diavoli and PSG have already begun.

However, according to the report, PSG’s asking price is too high and if the Ligue 1 giants lower their demands, Milan would consider his permanent signing.

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that PSG’s asking price is in the region of €20m.

Diallo, 25, has played 13 games across all competitions with PSG this season. He can play as a centre-back or as a full-back.

Who is Milan’s latest transfer target Botman?

The Senegal international is Milan’s No.1 alternative to Sven Botman, valued at €30m by his club Lille.

Diallo’s contract in Paris expires in June 2024. He joined PSG in a €32m deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.

He is among the players that PSG are open to selling, given that the Ligue 1 giants are planning to cash in at least €100m from sales in the winter transfer window.

  1. He’s neither a great left-back nor a great center-back. He’s something in between and he’s just OK. Surely for 20m we can do better?
