Milan have reportedly targeted RB Salzburg striker Noah Okafor as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud.

According to Calciomercato.com, the 22-year-old has attracted the interest of the Serie A giants, not only thanks to his goals against the Rossoneri and Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Swiss international has scored seven goals in 12 appearances with RB Salzburg this term and has the physical and technical features that seem to fit Stefano Pioli’s style.

Okafor’s contract runs out in 2024 and according to Calciomercato, the Austrian giants currently value their star at €35m.

The promising striker could become Milan’s long-term replacement for Ibra and Giroud.

Both strikers see their contracts expire at the end of the season. The France international has featured in every Milan game so far as Ante Rebic and Divock Origi have been struggling with injuries, while the Swede will return to action in January following knee surgery in the summer.

According to the report, Giroud will likely sign a one-year extension, but Milan would still need a new centre forward next season.

  1. belotti was obvious choice at a free transfer but it’s anyone’s guess why milan did not go after him

  2. Belotti has been average that’s why hard worker but he has been very average for Italy and Torino lately. NOT Milan quality like Leao Giroud and hopefully Okofor

  3. Hauge also scored against Milan, we bought him, He performed well, then for unknown reasons was shipped away. Okafor will need to prove to be better to actually replace Giroud or Ibra.

  4. @ Stefan: look at belotti’s stats last 4 seasons then look at this guy okafor’s stats in (with due respect) austrian league, then talk, because what you said makes zero sense

  5. Looks a good player. Young too. Whether it’s him or another forward, we definitely need to replace Giroud and Ibra properly at some point. Belotti doesn’t do that, Belotti sits on the bench at a smaller club, waiting for Tammy Abraham to lose form.

  6. Okafor? Really? Why? Because he scored a goal in each of the last two CL outings? 🙂 No, Thank You.

It’s a bit flavour of the month alright but that’s how sports media works. Milan will be linked with a different CF every few days until we make a relatively big signing.

You’re forgetting their age difference. Compare Belotti to this guy when he was 22 if you want to do it right.

  9. I am glad Milan did not sign Belotti, he is not Milan quality. We definitely need a Finisher up front and another Kakâ if possible to boost our chances to beat El Madrid en la CHAMPIONS. Forza Milan per sempre!

Hauge was a good prospect but we had 2 other players in the same position, Leao and Rebic. Rebic was chosen because of his versatility and thanks Maldini for chosing to stick with Leao and give him time to grow as you know next how big his contribution to our 19th.
