The Swede has played a key role in the team’s development over the last year and a half but missed half of Milan’s games this season with physical issues.

That’s why, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have added a clause in the striker’s agreement that will see his salary rise depending on his appearances in 2021-22.

According to the report, the Rossoneri have also protected themselves with another clause regarding the striker’s off-the-pitch issues.

Earlier in April, Swedish media claimed Ibrahimovic risks being fined or even banned by FIFA and UEFA as his joint-stock company owns 10% of a betting agency.

The player and the club consulted many lawyers with knowledge on the matter, and it emerged the striker only risks a fine.

“I feel very happy. I waited for this day and now I have another year, which is what is really important to me,” Ibrahimovic said after signing his contract extension with the Diavoli.
